The Kielce Countryside Museum - Ethnographic Park in Tokarnia was established in 1976, and began to operate in 1977. It is the implementation of scientific assumptions of the ethnographer and expert in traditional folk culture - Professor Roman Reinfuss. His intention was to reconstruct the typical settlement system of villages from various subregions of Świętokrzyskie area: Świętokrzyskie Mountains, Kraków-Częstochowa Highlands, Sandomierska Highland and Niecka Nidziańska.
